It starts as a 25 pound block of clay.
Slowly she begins to take shape.
Her eyes — just round spheres.
Her mouth — a slit beneath the nose.
Slowly small dabs of clay mold her cheeks — to raise them in glee.
As she is given a tongue, her laugh consumes her face.
Her eyes hidden behind raised cheeks.
